Very nice to see the Geishas from the very young to the-"not so young". Reminds us foreigners that they are real women who love their profession and are working so hard to preserve this priceless Japanese institution, despite the changes in Japanese society and the current pandemic.
hangyoku start a little bit later than maiko in general. They usually wear wigs and a different kimono&obi than Kyoto's maiko. I think you can easily compare the look of maiko and hangyoku in my videos :) Kansai (Kyoto) has a significantly different culture than other parts of Japan, but Kyoto's maiko are the most famous internationally, I suppose. However, hangyoku are equally hard-working and beautiful!

This is the most beautiful singing voice I've ever heard in Japanese singing. It's not has high pitched. It feels so gentle and welcoming.
I agree! I love Hatoyakko's voice, too!

What is the difference between hangyoku and maiko?
Maiko is apprentice Geiko in Kyoto, hangyoku is apprentice Geisha in Japan outside Kyoto.

I was put off by something when I first saw Hinazuru-san, only now I realize that it's the wig, I'm not used to seeing it worn by maiko.
she's not a maiko, but hangyoku - hangyoku traditionally wear wigs :) it's just a different custom of Japanese culture
